Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains what information AI Foundry collects, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and take extra care with learners under 18.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored only in scrambled, encrypted form), or your Google profile if you sign in with Google.
- Learning progress: lessons completed, quiz results, project checklists, lab work and badges.
- AI Mentor messages: the questions you send so the mentor can reply with hints. These conversations are not saved as a history.
- Payment records: your plan, payment reference and renewal date from Paystack. We never see or store your card number, CVV or bank login — Paystack handles these on its own secure, certified systems.
2. How we use it
- To run your lessons, labs and projects and track your progress.
- To give you hints and feedback through the AI Mentor.
- To share progress summaries with your instructors and any guardian you have linked.
- To manage your subscription or school license.
3. Protecting learners under 18
- Family Link: a parent or guardian can only see a learner's progress after a one-time invite code is shared with them.
- What guardians see: course progress, completed projects and activity — never passwords or private account details.
- We do not sell learner data and we do not show targeted advertising to children.
4. Your portfolio, your choice
Portfolios are private by default. In Settings you decide whether your portfolio is public and whether your real name or a username is shown.
5. Who we share data with
We share data only with services needed to run AI Foundry — secure hosting, the AI service that powers the mentor, and Paystack for payments — and only as much as each needs. We may disclose information if Nigerian law requires it.
6. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your account and data.
- Withdraw consent, for example by turning off your public portfolio.
To make a request, contact the AI Foundry team through the email address on your account.
7. Keeping data safe and how long we keep it
Access to your data is restricted so learners only see their own work. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it after an account deletion request, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records).
8. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we will change the date at the top of this page.
